It’s everyone’s responsibility in a team to foster a good working environment, but it’s the responsibility of the company through their management to facilitate this among the team. A good working environment is one based off trust and support for one another. the goal of the leader or manager to serve their team members by creating a healthy and happy working culture, which will also have the added bonus of increasing their productivity (Covey, 1977).
Disrespectful, bullying, constant pressurised or otherwise toxic working environments should be detected and prevented at all costs. This will prevent doing a disservice to an organisation’s members by affecting their health and well-being, also leading to reduced productivity and high staff turnover threatening the long-term success of the organisation.
The test manager should observe how their team is feeling as a first-order measurement to a problematic working environment and take corrective action as required.
